Position Summary
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing the monitoring and evaluation framework of the organization’s projects and programs. This includes collecting data, analyzing results, and providing insights to ensure that Techforward Tanzania’s activities are effective and aligned with its strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop M&E Frameworks:
- Design and implement M&E systems to track progress, outcomes, and impact of projects.
- Establish indicators and performance metrics aligned with project objectives.
- Data Collection and Analysis:
- Develop data collection tools and methodologies.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation and collect data.
- Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of projects and identify areas for improvement.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive M&E reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories from the projects.
- Contribute to donor reports by providing relevant M&E data.
- Capacity Building:
- Train project staff and partners on M&E systems, tools, and best practices.
- Provide technical support in the design and implementation of M&E activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with project partners, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders to gather feedback and insights.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure M&E activities are integrated into all phases of project management.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency in all M&E processes.
- Implement regular audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
- Use of M&E Findings:
- Provide actionable insights based on M&E findings to inform decision-making.
- Support the design and implementation of project improvements based on evaluation results.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in M&E roles, preferably within the NGO sector.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, Excel).
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
